The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then he mustered 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
