Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in outstretched columns. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
