And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
