The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
