Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if We willed We could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear. 100 (Muhammad), such were the stories of the people who lived in (different) towns in the past. We had sent Our Messengers to them with (certain) miracles but the people still did not believe in what they had rejected before. Such is how God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) covenant, and We found most of them to be certainly transgressors. 102 Then We sent, after them, Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his Council, but they did them wrong; so behold thou, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 103 Moses said: "O Pharaoh, I have been sent by the Lord of all the worlds; 104 Approved upon condition that I speak concerning Allah nothing but the truth. I come unto you (lords of Egypt) with a clear proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me. 105 Said [Pharaoh]: "If thou hast come with a sign, produce it - if thou art a man of truth!" 106 Thereupon Moses threw his rod, and suddenly it was a veritable serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
