Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 Recall what time he said unto his father: O my father! wherefore worshippest thou that which heareth not and seeth not, nor availeth thee at all? 42 Father, I have received the knowledge which has not been given to you. Follow me; I shall guide you to the right path. 43 "O my father! Worship not Shaitan (Satan). Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has been a rebel against the Most Beneficent (Allah). 44 Father, I fear that the punishment of the Merciful will fall upon you and you will become a guide of satan' 45 But he replied: 'Do you shrink away from my gods, Abraham? Surely, if you do not cease I will stone you, so leave me for awhile' 46 He said: Peace be on you, I will pray to my Lord to forgive you; surely He is ever Affectionate to me: 47 "And I will turn away from you (all) and from those whom ye invoke besides Allah: I will call on my Lord: perhaps, by my prayer to my Lord, I shall be not unblest." 48 So when he turned away from them and those they worshipped, other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob. Each of them We made a Prophet, 49 and We bestowed on them Our mercy, and granted them a truly lofty renown. 50
