Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim. 1 This (Qur’an) is sent down from the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whereof the Verses are explained in detail; A Quran in Arabic for people who know. 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 They say: "Our hearts are under veils, (concealed) from that to which thou dost invite us, and in our ears is a deafness, and between us and thee is a screen: so do thou (what thou wilt); for us, we shall do (what we will!)" 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
