And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
