The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
