Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
