Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you see any remnants of them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 In order to make it a warning for you, and that the ear retentive may preserve it. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 And not known my account! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
