The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a goal for all who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right! 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 A fitting recompense (for them). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
