The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
