The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught Man that he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We also shall call the infernal guards. 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
