A (goodly) number from those of old, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand! 41 (they shall live) amid burning winds and boiling water, 42 and under the shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 They had been affluent before, 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 "And also our forefathers?" 48 Say: The first and the last, 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 and on top of this you will drink boiling water 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you, why will you not believe! 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Is it you who create it - or are We the source of its creation? 59 We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdone 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 Had We wanted, We could have crushed it to bits and you would have been left to lament, 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Extol, then, the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
