Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
