We did not create heaven and earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who deny the truth. Woe betide those who deny the truth, when they are cast into the Fire -- 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 It is a Blessed Book that We have sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad), so that those possessed with minds might ponder its verses and remember. 29 We bestowed Solomon on David who was an excellent devotee, for he turned to God in penitence. 30 And when one evening well-trained and running horses of noble breed were brought to him 31 And he said: Lo! I have preferred the good things (of the world) to the remembrance of my Lord; till they were taken out of sight behind the curtain. 32 Then he said "Bring them (horses) back to me." Then he began to pass his hand over their legs and their necks (till the end of the display). 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said, 'My Lord, forgive me, and give me a kingdom such as may not befall anyone after me; surely Thou art the All-giver.' 35 So We subjected the wind to him, so that it ran softly by his command wherever he wished; 36 as well as all the rebellious forces [that We made to work for him] - every kind of builder and diver 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 'This is Our gift; bestow or withhold without reckoning.' 39 And lo! he hath favour with Us, and a happy journey's end. 40
