Whatever misfortune befalls you is of your own doing, God forgives much, 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships sailing on the sea, like hills. 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 And those who dispute in respect of Our revelations may know that for them there is no place of shelter. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting – for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 (This reward will be for) those who keep away from major sins and indecency, who forgive when they are made angry, 37 And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them; 38 And those who take revenge when rebellion harms them. 39 But [remember that an attempt at] requiting evil may, too, become an evil: hence, whoever pardons [his foe] and makes peace, his reward rests with God - for, verily, He does not love evildoers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 The cause is only against the ones who wrong the people and tyrannize upon the earth without right. Those will have a painful punishment. 42 And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage. 43
