Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Verily in that is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
