Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the Moon 32 By the receding night 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 From the guilty. 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
