The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
