Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the criminals. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 for an appointed term? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
