And Nuh! recall what time he cried aforetime; so we answered him and delivered him and his household from a calamity mighty. 76 and helped him against the nation who had belied Our signs. They were an evil nation; We drowned them all. 77 Tell of David and Solomon who both passed judgement on the field into which some people's sheep had strayed [and grazed] at night. We bore witness to their judgement. 78 We made Solomon understand the law about the case and gave both David and Solomon knowledge and wisdom. We made the mountains and birds glorify the Lord along with David. We had also done to him such favors before. 79 And We taught him the making of metal coats of mail (for battles), to protect you in your fighting. Are you then grateful? 80 And to Sulaiman (Solomon) (We subjected) the wind strongly raging, running by his command towards the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are the All-Knower. 81 We also subjected to him some of the jinn who dived for him in the sea and performed other tasks; We kept a watch over them. 82 ۞ And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful." 83 We heard his prayer and relieved his suffering, We restored to him his family, doubling their number as an act of Our grace, and as a reminder for the worshippers. 84 And Ismail and Idris and Zulkifl; all were of the patient ones; 85 We encompassed them in Our mercy; they were righteous people. 86 And (mention) Dhu'n-Nun, when he went off in anger and deemed that We had no power over him, but he cried out in the darkness, saying: There is no Allah save Thee. Be Thou Glorified! Lo! I have been a wrong-doer. 87 So We answered him, and We delivered him from the distress, and Thus do We deliver the believers. 88 Zachariah prayed, "Lord, do not leave me alone without offspring, although you are the best heir". 89 Then We heard his prayer, and bestowed upon him John, and adjusted his wife (to bear a child) for him. Lo! they used to vie one with the other in good deeds, and they cried unto Us in longing and in fear, and were submissive unto Us. 90 And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples. 91 People, you are one nation and I am your Lord. Worship Me. 92 But they tore asunder their faith into many parts. But to Us they are bound to return. 93
