The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
