Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But you should glorify your Lord with praises, and be among those who bow in submission; 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
