Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 Guidance and mercy for the righteous. 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
