Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
