The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 a return for the insolent, 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
