The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 As they sat around it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
