Tell them, (O Muhammad): "Who protects you, during the night or the day from the Most Compassionate Lord?" And yet they turn away from the Admonition of their Lord. 42 Do they have other deities who can defend them against Us? They cannot even help themselves, neither can they be aided against Us. 43 Nay, We gave provision to these and their fathers until life was prolonged to them. Do they not then see that We are visiting the land, curtailing it of its sides? Shall they then prevail? 44 Say, "I warn you only through the Revelation." But the deaf can hear nothing when they are warned, 45 But if just a breath of your Lord's punishment were to touch them, they would say: 'Woe for us, we were harmdoers' 46 And We set a just balance for the Day of Resurrection so that no soul is wronged in aught. Though it be of the weight of a grain of mustard seed, We bring it. And We suffice for reckoners. 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion, and a light and reminder for those who take heed for themselves, 48 Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive. 49 And this is a blessed reminder that We have sent down. Will you then deny it? 50
