And recite unto them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are all enemies to me; all, except the Lord of the Universe 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 and grant me an honourable reputation among posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
