Say, [O Muhammad], "I am only a warner, and there is not any deity except Allah, the One, the Prevailing. 65 "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 (And) you are turning aside from it: 68 I had no knowledge of the Highest Chiefs when they disputed; 69 it has only been revealed to me that I am a plain warner." 70 Recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a human being from clay; 71 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him prostrate. 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 Said He, 'Iblis, what prevented thee to bow thyself before that I created with My own hands? Hast thou waxed proud, or art thou of the lofty ones?' 75 He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay. 76 He said: Go forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast, 77 Upon you will be My damnation till the Day of Doom." 78 He said: My Lord! then respite me to the day that they are raised. 79 Answered He: "Verily, so [be it:] thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 That I will most certainly fill hell with you and with those among them who follow you, all. 85 (Muhammad), say, "I do not ask any reward for my preaching to you for I am not a pretender. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
