The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it goes down, (or vanishes). 1 your companion is neither astray, neither errs, 2 nor does he speak out of desire. 3 This is naught but a revelation revealed, 4 Taught to him by one intense in strength - 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. 7 Then he approached and descended 8 So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) 9 And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. 10 His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. 11 What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 And he certainly saw him in another descent 13 by the lote-tree of the farthest limit, 14 close to the Garden of Refuge. 15 when there covered the Lote-Tree that which covered; 16 [And withal,] the eye did not waver, nor yet did it stray: 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 (Can anything as such be considered true) of al-Lat, al-Uzza, 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That indeed is a division unfair! 22 These are nothing but names that you and your forefathers have invented, for which Allah has sent down no authority. They are merely following their conjectures and their carnal desires although guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Can the human being have whatever he wishes? 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
