Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask thou them: are there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? 149 Did We create the angels females, to which they were witnesses? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 What, will you not remember? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 160 So, verily you (pagans) and those whom you worship (idols). 161 can lure away from God any 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Gabriel said to the Prophet): 'Each of us has a known place. 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 We glorify God." 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That they would be helped, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see; and they too shall soon see. 179 Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
