Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And [by] the night when it covers with darkness, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And did He not find you in need and make you rich? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11
