Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And those that strike violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 until an appointed time? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
