The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
