Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
