And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is a reminder; and most surely there is an excellent resort for those who guard (against evil), 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people who rushed headlong [into sin] with you? No welcome to them! Verily, they [too] shall have to endure the fire!" 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
