Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
