And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (the rocky tract) denied the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 For all that they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99
