Said Moosa, “My Lord, open up my breast for me.” 25 and ease my task for me, 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 to support me. 31 And let him share my task, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 "And remember You much, 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 “When We inspired in your mother’s heart whatever was to be inspired.” 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
