So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
