The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Sustainer's greatness glorify! 3 purify your garments; 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 and then he looks [around for new arguments,] 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 It strips away the hide of man. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
