The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
