Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the dawn 1 And by oath of ten nights. 2 by the odd and even (8th and 9th Dhil-hajj) 3 And the night when it departeth, 4 Is this not a sufficient oath for intelligent people? 5 Have you not seen what your Lord did to the 'Ad 6 the people of the huge columned city of Eram 7 The like of which were not produced in (all) the land? 8 and Thamood, who hollowed the rocks in the valley, 9 And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts, 10 Who committed inordinacy in the cities, 11 And who then spread a lot of turmoil in them. 12 So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment. 13 Most surely your Lord is watching. 14 As for man, whenever his Lord tries him and then is gracious and provides good things for him, he says: "My Lord has been gracious to me." 15 But whenever He trieth him by straitening his means of life, he saith: My Lord despiseth me. 16 But no; you do not treat the orphan honourably, 17 Nor do ye encourage one another to feed the poor!- 18 And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether, 19 And ye love wealth with inordinate love! 20 No indeed! When the earth is ground to powder, 21 And thy Lord cometh, and His angels, rank upon rank, 22 And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him? 23 He shall say, 'O would that I had forwarded for my life!' 24 So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment, 25 Nor shall any bind with His bond. 26 O you tranquil soul, 27 Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him], 28 Enter thou among My servants! 29 And enter into My garden. 30
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
