The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 There is none that can avert it; 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 "This is the fire which you were wont to call a lie! 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
