Nay! By the moon 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
