Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
