The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
